Georgia just passed a “religious freedom” bill. I am really, really tired of having other people’s religious views foisted on me and the rest of the country. I don’t dispute your right to whatever faith you want to pursue, but leave the rest of us the hell alone.

He told us he was gonna do all of this stuff, but the sheer onslaught of this first day has been overwhelming. I can’t believe we have at least four more years of waking up every single morning and wondering what fresh hell awaits us.

In addition to the substacks I subscribe to, I also have the AP and Reuters news apps on my phone so I get notification of breaking news. When I get a notification from both of them at the same time, I know it’s a big story. Y’all all know what I’m hoping for every time that happens, right?
