If IMLS goes, so does a LOT of rural broadband provision through libraries.

If only there was someone government adjacent with a satellite internet provision company that can step up and take more government money to plug that gap

In case you are wondering what will be lost from eliminating the IMLS, this Reddit user has listed a ton - including tribal libraries, talking book/Braille libraries, and DPLA digitization services.

(also: shoutout my IRL friend @anactualdoughnut.bsky.social for sharing more information w/me!)

IMLS is how the work I do is funded— they have funds specifically for Tribal libraries. Without their grants, projects like what my work w the Quinault would not have begun, and cannot be completed. This will impact all libraries, but the impact on Tribal libraries will be debilitating.
🚨NEW🚨: Donald Trump is attempting to strip away federal support for libraries. We will NOT let that happen.

Last night the President signed an order to gut the Institute of Museum & Library Services. But together, we know we can show up & defeat it.
