I was on a BBS (The Citadel)— maybe around 1991/92. It was on an Apple PowerBook 140 with a 2400bps modem. Heady days!

IMO, our leaders and politicians should be forced to consider everything said by them as delivered under oath. If they lie, perjury charges would be brought. If it’s a sensitive matter, they could refuse to answer—saying that it is so.
These are positions requiring trust and integrity…not sales.

Exactly…only with more leering and saliva.

In one way, Trump told the absolute truth. He moved on Lady Liberty “like a b*tch. He “grabbed her by the p*ssy” “They (the Republicans) let him do it because he’s famous. He let Musk have his way with her.

What’s next? Finding her dead in a ditch beside some lonely highway?

While Scientology never had “pureness of heart” as its founding ethos, it was Miscavage who made it truly nasty.

Many, many years ago, I read Dianetics. I even went for one of those Free Personality Tests. Something felt wrong. I read, Bare-Faced Messiah by Russell Miller years later. Great book—very even-handed and one that explained why I felt so put off.

And he ended it with “All the best”!! That’s a bit like a collection agency signing a dunning letter with “Smoochies”

The German people accepted and loved Hitler because he promised improvement. What he delivered, on the other hand…
The MAGA supporters of Trump are much the same. And Trump/Musk have already abandoned many of their supporters.

What has happened to journalism? Why the spicy language?
You could have written, “…waiting to see…” and “with tariffs…” and then led into an opinion piece on the grave concerns and potential harsh outcomes. But this is emotional pandering and it attempts to steer the reader. Shameful.

Found it! A comic strip called The Wizard of Id by Johnny Hart.
“Larsen E. Pettifogger: Attorney-at-law in the kingdom of Id. An unscrupulous, incompetent shyster with a big pretentious nose and stovepipe hat, he lies and cheats to protect criminals.“

I’ve been in multi-gender bathrooms that had a large circular communal sink with multiple taps. Two things amazed me: that most women didn’t wash their hands and the level of disarray. My sense was that most women just wanted to get the hell out of there.

From somewhere, I recall a cartoon where there was a lawyer (possibly a politician) named Larson E. Pettifogger.

One thing I loved about that episode is when James Darren and Avery Brooks sang their duet—The Best Is Yet To Come.

The joy is visible on their faces and on the faces of the cast members sitting at the bar. Everyone was clearly loving the performance, beyond the requirements of their characters.
