Like many things fascism it's seems great on the surface, as long as you don't think too hard or look too deep.

The idea behind the fasces as a symbol is actually pretty great. The bundle is stronger than any one stick, so by sticking together the axe handle is unbreakable.

It's also unwieldy, heavy, and unsuited for its functional purpose, but I'm sure that isn't supposed to be part of the metaphor.

That's not how Trump meant it, and Newsom is just throwing Trump's words in her face, no modification.

Why are you trying to justify it? Why does it have to be okay to call a woman "piggy"?
