She paused and let out a low breath before glancing at the chair. She crossed her arms in front of her chest loosely not feeling like sitting down.

She said as she sat next to him and started petting the puppy again. The small dog was trying to climb up his chest while whining for his attention.

Christmas was going to be unforgettable. Last Christmas she was all alone - not in the mood to celebrate or decorate anything. She requested to work extra hours at the hospital since she preferred it than being home alone but this year was different.
