Yk the thing that really makes me hate Caesar is just because of how genuine her affections seemed.
Red makes it clear that Caesar wad the only one who acted like a parent to her. Not even Kal'tsit acted as a mother to Red.
It just makes Caesar telling Red to end her own life so much more brutal.

@besiegedhunter.bsky.social now that I think about it, this reads more like Caesar was the only one to comfort Red that way, because while Kal'tsit took her in, she used Red as an assassin for 9 years and was probably more like a handler than a mother to her.
