I conclude that if there is sufficiently “strong” sync between brains after the sharing of intentional states, the ant colony may have a unified mind with a spatially distributed body. 4/4

I defend the idea that the chemical signals dispersed by ants have mental content and that semiochemical exchange produces interencephalic synchronization, thus constituting a collective consciousness. 3/4

However, the chemical information transmitted by the ants would have to be structured to communicate intentional states and, consequently, after exposure to external sensory stimuli or contact with the antennae, interbrain sync could occur, thus supporting collectively coordinated behavior. 2/4
