Historical parallels aplenty, but imho this (Soviet) caricature shows it well.
My symphathy is with Ukrainians first, but seen individually each death is a tragedy.

Unfortunately there are many the "patriots" in Europe just waiting to get into power.
Imho we should repolularize the term Quisling.

You could say, EV is a spectrum...

The FPÖ (and other self proclained patriots) will have a hard time deciding if they should sell out to Putin or Trump

Nuclear modulation is significant and can reflect demand/supply.
Quite a good thing

Despite the different historical circumstances, the UK and France have their economies similarly centralized in the capital.

99.5% of votes counted and PAS at >50% means Maia Sandi does not depend on another party for a coalition and can continue her current course towards the EU.

Wind and water mills historically were the primary energy source and only slowly lost ther spot to steam/coal over the course of the 19th century and industrial revolution.

How much differentiation between FRG and GDR was there in Poland?

The West decided on rehabilitating and rearming West Germany after the first Soviet atomic bomb had them reevaluate the defense requirements (unlike after WW1 as this UK poster shows).

Look at the atrocities on the horizon.

Entire vilages were resettled to extend lignite mining and yet NIMBYism prevents smaller wind or solar projects that lack the backing of such a large scale operation.

But wind turbines are ugly and ruin the landscape🤡

The divide in South Korea is indeed way worse than elsewhere and the change in political stance for men is much more pronounced.

Even if European and American producers can "defend" their home markets (i.e. via tariffs), they'll really struggle with exports to the rest of the world.

First time I've hear of it but it was supposedly aimed at the European market.

However "in 2023, the MG4 is the second best-selling EV in the United Kingdom" and the 2nd Gen only started preorders a little more than 3 weeks ago, so could be a dip due to model change.

I'll have to wait until CleanTechnica releases their next update, but in June, the two most sold models where Teslas with the BYD Seal in place 5.

In aggregate (Jan-Jun) and adding up models/brands VW group still lead with 27.8% of all EVs sold in Europe.

The guardian article doesn't mention them but I'm more interested how the old Europeans of VW, BMW and Stellantis hold up against the Chinese competition in their home market.
