On June 17th, 1930 President Herbert Hoover signed the Smoot-Hawley Tarriff act into law. The Smoot-Hawley Tarriffs cut American Exports AND imports by 67% and worsened the Great Depression. Anyway, we’re doing that again over 80 years later for some reason.
