I started this painting earlier this year but had only painted the cat and bird. I found it while sorting my works on paper and have been working on it off and on for about a week. It is gouache on hot press watercolor paper.

When there was the baby formula shortage a few years ago, commissaries still had it (Stars and Stripes reported this at the time ). I can’t even imagine if they hadn’t been a resource for military families.

Our local car dealer has a country song written for their Hyundai dealership and it sounds like they’re playing it at 11 even when our tv is turned way down. I’ve gotten used to hitting the mute button as soon as the first notes play

The Barnes and Noble by Blick moved buildings earlier this year and overall I preferred the smaller space bc their periodical section is awful at the new one and trying to find anything is an exercise in frustration. But today they had Mother Horror’s new book on a front facing endcap so, yay!

For some reason I’m reminded of the episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer , “Band Candy”. The adults are dosed with candy that makes them all act irresponsibly so the bad guys can carry out their bad guy plot. The next day we find out that Giles and Joyce hooked up and Giles made love like a stevedore

Three years ago in October, someone made a multi post, multi day thread on the bird app. It was so compelling and helped take my mind off of all the work I was enmeshed in while closing my dad’s estate. It involved a staircase in the woods and tall figures with gaping maws that followed her home. 1/
