I had a similar issue flying from Prague back to LDN. I’m US citizen with a work visa for uk. Uk immigration can see that I’m a perm res but the Czech folks couldn’t so they told me I needed a travel authorization (I didn’t). Had to log into uk gov to prove status which id never had to do before.
