We welcome the readiness by Russia & the US to adhere to the #NewSTART limits for a year after expiry. More nuclear weapons won’t make anyone safer – neither the US, nor Russia nor the rest of the world. Let us use this time to get to deeper cuts through a new agreement.

💔Viktoriia Grebeniuk, 32, and her 3-months-old son Roman were killed by the Russian attack on #Kyiv last night.

They were thrown out of the window by a drone strike. Viktoriia's husband, Roman's dad, was badly injured.

31 August 1926 | A Polish Jew, Dawid Wiśnia, was born in Sochaczew.

Deported to Auschwitz in December 1942 from the ghetto in Nowy Dwór Mazowiecki
No. 83526

In 1944, he escaped from a transport to Dachau, joined the US Army & later emigrated to the US. He became a cantor.
He passed away in 2021.

30 August 1874 | Italian Jew, Alberto Della Seta, was born in Rome.

He was deported to #Auschwitz from Rome on 23 August 1943. He was murdered in a gas chamber after the arrival selection.

We are appalled by the killing of civilians, including journalists and healthcare workers, in Israeli airstrikes on #NasserHospital. Attacks on hospitals are a flagrant violation of international law. We need an immediate and permanent #ceasefire!
