"Energy dominance," you say?

As of this year, *China is exporting more clean-energy technology than the US is exporting the dirty stuff*.

The future is green energy & China, not the US, is set to dominate it.
China Is Beating the US in the Battle for Energy Export Dominance
China’s exports of clean energy technology hit a record in August, with $20 billion shipped globally.

In Ep. 260, Muyi Yang and Sam Butler-Sloss of @emberclimate detail how China has become the undisputed global leader in the energy transition, and is helping developing countries to decarbonize far more rapidly than the economic powerhouses of the West […]

Renewables (primarily solar and wind) have grown dramatically over the past five years while other electricity sources have been relatively flat. Renewables are on track to generate more electricity than coal in 2025 (and already have over H1 of the year):

Sikrare straumforsyning vil koste meir natur

Not everything sucks! If you need power today, you build solar. Cheap Chinese solar panels should just be embraced. Because they’re a product, not a commodity no real dependencies are created.

Solar shines in the rush for power in Africa’s largest petrostate
Nigeria has become a major importer of Chinese panels as buying on the continent begins to boom

Yes but we didn’t start wth a full rooster of models in all segments, we had think, leaf, triplets and tesla. So in that regard it’s not too bad, but Denmark is a joy to watch take off.

Revolutionary new dryer that runs entirely off of wind and solar energy, making it Energy Star rated and coming in at a cost point of nearly free!

A transition to 100% Wind-Water-Solar across all energy sectors in the U.S. requires only 35% of the land used for energy by fossil fuels and biofuels today.

It is current energy that is hogging land. Renewables reduce land use.

If you're looking for a good read, check out "Death of the Author" by Nnedi Okorafor @nnedi.bsky.social — it's africanfuturism and contemporary literary fiction all rolled into a compulsively readable story. I devoured it in 3 days, but I think it's going to stay with me for a while.
Cover image of "Death of the Author" by Nnedi Okorafor. It features a red, orange, and cyan Ankara pattern in the background with the head and shoulders of a Black woman with long, braided hair on top of it. The title information is contained within her head. The tagline reads: The future of storytelling is here.
