If you're looking for a good read, check out "Death of the Author" by Nnedi Okorafor @nnedi.bsky.social — it's africanfuturism and contemporary literary fiction all rolled into a compulsively readable story. I devoured it in 3 days, but I think it's going to stay with me for a while.
Cover image of "Death of the Author" by Nnedi Okorafor. It features a red, orange, and cyan Ankara pattern in the background with the head and shoulders of a Black woman with long, braided hair on top of it. The title information is contained within her head. The tagline reads: The future of storytelling is here.

I read all four of @sarahkendzior.bsky.social’s books this year, and they’re all very worth your time. She connects dots and brings receipts. Thank you, Sarah.

From THE LAST AMERICAN ROAD TRIP, on the stripping away of American rights. The book is mostly a family travelogue. But new laws were devised midway through our travels, and I got mad, and wrote that down too.

The “male loneliness epidemic” becoming a bigger deal than FEMICIDE tells you everything you need to know about how the world feels about women and patriarchy.

At least 12 million people ( 3.7% of US pop) took a stand against the Trump regime and fascism on Saturday.

The next step is a national general strike and boycotts. When 3.5% of the whole population of a nation has begun to participate in resistance, success is inevitable. #3E #NoKings #StopICE

Lift weights. Don’t neglect mobility and flexibility (I like yoga and qigong). Floss. Sunscreen every day. Treat your neck and chest as if they were your face. Wear earplugs at loud shows and clubs.

This Hannah Arendt quote feels appropriate right now

"Totalitarianism in power invariably replaces all first-rate talents, regardless of their sympathies, with those crackpots and fools whose lack of intelligence and creativity is still the best guarantee of their loyalty."
