In 2021 Good Law Project went for an Orwell Prize for uncovering the Covid PPE VIP lane - an issue which helped bring down the last Government. We didn't even get shortlisted - one of the judges was a Director General under the last Government working on... the Covid response. 😂
I’m a past winner of the Orwell Prize & won partly because I exposed Vote Leave’s unlawful activities.

Michael Gove was its co-convener & refused to answer a single q. He’s now a judge of the prize & our world is truly one that Orwell would recognise

I guess, in true Tory style, we lacked friends in high places. Britain is such a shitshow - and the liar Michael Gove is the very worst of it.

Labour MPs are just aping Reform now!

Why do they even bother - none of the far-right are gonna vote for 'fascism light' when they can get the 'full fat' version with Farage!

Also, what is it about police/ ex-police (don't answer that, I know!) 😣

"Trans activist" - a whole lexicon just to deny calling us "people"
First he gets a pass to threaten/libel people, and now he gets a pass to damage their property.

He'll take this as a win, but as he's his own worst enemy, it's only a matter of time before he does something truly awful because he thinks he's been given permission.

And if you're a trans person with trans-supportive parents - tell them about Transparent Action too!

It's set up to counter the transphobia and support parents in taking a stand in an informed and safe way.
If you're a parent of a trans person, and you've read the excellent @transsafety.network article about how Wes Streeting is listening to anti-trans lobby groups like Bayswater Support Group, and you're wondering what you can do?

I’ve completely had the stuffing knocked out of me by the PB trial announcement. Then this. News that Bayswater were consulted.

This is why we need to grow Transparent Action. To show that the majority of parents support their kids and expose Streeting’s bias.

To tie back to my comparison to other online radicalisation, even if you don't give a shit about trans people, the judiciary becoming increasingly partial on a specific issue should be seen as the canary in the coal mine giving the current direction of travel in this country
Like it was obvious when the Supreme Court randomly decided to rewrite the Equality Act, but I think there's a large amount if journalistic negligence that no one really treats judges as anything other than neutral conduits through which the word of law moves

As a lot of the people I'm subtweeting are men, I am sympathetic that some will have the mindset of "it's not my place to talk over women on a feminist issue", but given how often cis feminists who don't agree with the GC consensus get ignored, or even iced out, too, it's misguided

I don’t like subtweeting people I consider online friends, but there is a subset of people who are very worried about the ongoing radicalisation of our political elite but won’t ever acknowledge the echoes with the radicalisation of their colleagues on trans rights
And few who are sympathetic to us, some who are friendly with me on here, will ever stick their head above the parapet
