Rose Docherty’s latest stunt arrest is a timely reminder that exactly 1 year ago, these men were outside the Glasgow Sandyford Centre, a clinic that offers services to rape survivors, calling women murderers. This was just before there buffer zones came into force. This was the abuse women endured.

Honestly I have taught so many kids who would feel so intimidated by that, it would be hard getting them into school. This is so abusive and wrong. We have kids in primary school who are still 4 years old.

So grateful to Good Law Project. I’ve had antiabortion groups trying to shut me up before. It makes me more determined to speak up but the chilling effect is real.
Strong yes. All too often the law is used as a tool by dark money funded right wing activists to silence those who push back. We employed our defamation lawyer to try and level the playing field.

My abortion decriminalisation one was debated. Two MPs had proposed different decriminalisation amendments and it allowed extra parliamentary time for debate and showed the strength of public support.

There is a specific, profound cowardice in targeting a primary school.
These are families trying to integrate, learning the language, building a life. To meet that effort with intimidation and hate is absolutely vile.

Unfortunately, I know from the buffer zones stuff that the police won’t be able to do anything. Not harassing women and children relies on common sense and decency that some people just don’t have. It took a new law to stop anti-abortion protesters. Do we now need buffer zones at schools? 😩

Yeah, we know full well that some wee kids are carrying a LOT on their shoulders and they should be able to come to school without being confronted by a mob. Shameful.
