Invariably, those who repeat something do it differently, so whatever it was may or may not work a second time. But the phrase is used to mean doing something bad repeatedly and that is different.

Maybe so, but the bigger issue is that the media misleads, and enough people choose to be misled. The exception was the Second World War, when men were billeted together to learn to talk, debate and think for themselves, isolated from the media, then the voting system worked.

Lots more people and life will die instead. Perhaps we will get to be a dead planet like Venus and Mars much sooner.

But it should be an education in making and eating good food. Not selling junk

The system is geared to take more slack out as people try to give themselves more slack .

It might help, but what worked in the past was when blokes were billeted together during World War 2. They talked about what they wanted, and films of the time suggested good things to come. They wanted a Welfare state, the NHS, better homes, and work shared out fairly.

Inequality in the world war and profit has been growing since the media have determined the election result after WW2. The media stopped a popular left Labour government being elected in the UK, a useless Liberal government in USA. So we have the right beat the media at its own game, got Trump.

That is, we could move to greener ways if people thought government (of the People, of course) would do it and try to do it in a nicer way.

I am pleased with this, but it sadly does not mean anything on cutting fossil fuels. What was sad was how coal miners and all industry were treated in the 1980s, and that thought slightly overshadows.

In a way, I am less worried about AI, which in any case, is a progression, than of the bomb. Then scientists did as they were told because of the world war, people don't do as they are told so much now. Of course, Edward Teller did understand and would have killed us, but the USSR got secret.
