No, reckless would be a yellow card offense, if you wanna go law book on me. Careless is what you're looking for. And when you're a defender who is beat, you have a responsibility to be aware of the space you're in and the context around you. Joyner wasn't. He tripped a player. Foul for me.

Indefensible is your opinion. The law is tripping and you've got to interpret the situation to determine whether you qualify that as a trip ... and none of that is written in the laws! Which is what I did. I get you're mad and won't ever agree with me. I'm not trying to make ya.

The rule is that it is a foul if you trip (not no mention of intent, only outcome) or attempt to trip. Rest is up for interpretation. I am perfectly fine if you disagree with me. Doesn't bother me one bit.
