Found where the Metropolitan Elite gather. Mostly Mancunian, bit Londoner, pos British, definitely European. Brews own beer. Likes the radio. Thinks Tony Dibbin works too hard. All views mine, and only mine. He/Him. #RatVerified.
Also the trust's brochure contains this, and well goodness knows what that's all about.

No book - physical or electronic - should ever, EVER be formatted like a Word document would me. No. Just plain no.

This stranded tram - stuck behind the other one - had a driver on it at 9:20 this morning. Wonder how long they had to stay onboard.

This kind of complete junk is exactly why I don't use Google as a search engine any more. The Smallest House in Conwy is definitely not owned by the YHA, it's not a hostel, and you can't stay there.

Bus strikes today. Not much hope of getting anywhere in Stockport unless you're on one of the handful of non-Bee Network routes, or one of the few Bee Network services run by a non-striking depot.

There's one thing that's been slightly bugging me about the titles for the 1980s BBC One adaptations of Miss Marple. And that's the woman in the window. Is it me or does the woman in the far shot not look like the woman who is close up?

Apparently I'm only allowed to use Chrome or Edge to search the Stockport Council planning website. So I'm expecting the armed enforcement teams to arrive at any minute given I'm using Firefox.

After loving the TV series, finally got round to reading the original novel, and frankly I can not read it without hearing Daniel Mays's voice every time Chubb says "Herr Pünd!"

Dug out this from the back of the cupboard last night. It has a tale attached to it.
About 23 years ago I was in the bar with a colleague after work. There were posters for a promotion. Free glasses were being given away with purchases of bottled Belgian beers. 1/5

I see we've got to the stage where they're now making it completely impossible for humans to pass.

Yesterday a new bus route started in Ambleside. The Stagecoach Lake District 517 started, running to the tiny village of Little Langdale. The route is designed to help reduce traffic and parking problems in an area of the Lake District where there's narrow lanes and limited parking options.

Post COVID world means I have to book my swimming sessions in advance, rather than simply turn up. Because reasons... But not only that, now I have to say whether my children can swim before I can go swimming by myself!

Apropos to nothing but the Greatest Hits website schedule has a pulldown where you can choose which version of Greatest Hits to show.
It could be consolidated into two options: England&Wales, and Scotland... Come July, it will be completely unnecessary.

The Bill studios were up the road from our house when we lived in London, and they regularly used local locations for filming. The subway to the tram stop became a murder scene, and a derelict pub was the location of an illegal rave. Always good fun to spot.
