The new Frank J. Wood Bridge is officially open to traffic!

First opened in 1932, the original bridge served for generations as a vital connection between Brunswick and Topsham. As traffic volumes increased and the structure aged, MaineDOT worked with the communities to...

Early morning drive from midcoast Maine to Augusta. Is it cold? Not according to Jib who, I think, is part Newfie and wanted to play fetch….

It’s been decades since Ken Burns produced his first documentaries in the ‘80s. #TheAmericanRevolution now airing on #PBS is just as compelling as his finest works.

The view from our neighborhood never gets old — and it’s always changing. The Beaver Moon (yes, that’s really what it’s called) cast its glow over Penobscot Bay last night… and a few hours later, Jib greeted the first light of dawn beneath a bright orange sky. #OwlsHead #Maine

Three months into my new role with MaineDOT, I’ve discovered a great perk: my commute is a daily photo op.

From sunrises over Rockland Harbor to fog and vibrant foliage on quiet lakes, the drive from the midcoast never disappoints.

Maine has a way of turning the ordinary into the spectacular.
