Lots of the leaders of Worth Fighting For, which is a project from a bunch of orgs (Indivisible, MoveOn, the Working Families Party, etc.), have stressed the importance of rest. The Nap Ministry and Gabes Torres are other great examples.

Rest is radical in the midst of ongoing crisis.

At its basis, one’s ethic comes down to these kinds of questions:

1. What do I believe about myself? How do I experience connection with myself?

2. What do I believe about the world? How do I experience connection with it?

3. What do I believe about myself in relation to the world?

The beautiful thing about activist spaces right now is that most activists recognize the need for pause.

They recognize the exhaustion and are saying “focus on resting for a bit.”

Doing that now, in whatever form it takes, is probably a good thing based on what the next four years will be.
