As mayor, I’ll keep supporting innovators, start-ups, and local businesses by cutting red tape, modernizing city services, and making Edmonton a city that leads — not follows — in new ideas and technology.
andrewknack.bsky.social
Technology and entrepreneurship are key to building a stronger, more diverse economy — one that creates good jobs, attracts investment, and keeps talent here at home.
andrewknack.bsky.social
It’s Start Up Week!

Edmontons Technology sector is booming with local companies securing over $2.7 billion dollars in venture capital funding and creating thousands of jobs in our city.

Edmonton’s future depends on how we innovate.

Showing up is important. I'm thankful for the support shown to me today, and for my team's leadership in advocating alongside ATU.

Together we can build an Edmonton we’re proud to call home.

A Stronger City, Built Together!

A beautiful evening for door knocking! Grateful to be joined by members of CUPE Local 30.

Earlier today, Co-Campaign Manager Gabrielle and Deputy Campaign Manager Pam attended the ATU Strathcona County Transit Workers Rally for Respect to stand with workers.

This framework is uses the Calls to Action as a roadmap
to advance reconciliation, equity, and healing within the community through tangible actions and commitments.

Let us all walk this path of reconciliation with humility, compassion, and a shared commitment to striving for a better tomorrow.

This year is also the 10th Anniversary of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Final Report and the 94 Calls to Action.

The City of Edmonton’s Indigenous Framework, developed with the contributions and collaboration of many local Indigenous leaders, elders, and knowledge keepers.

Today we honour the residential school survivors and the children who were never returned home.

It’s about recognizing reconciliation is about healing, family and coming together and community. Recognizing the past and working towards meaningful change.

Today I spent my morning with Bent Arrow listening and learning. The theme for today is A Time to Listen. It is critical that we all take time to listen as it allows us to better understand the past. It also helps us learn and grow.

Thursday I met with @andrewknack.bsky.social. He took time out of his busy schedule to take a walk with me down the Promenade. I shared with him the residents' concerns & fears. He listened and shared these concerns. He actually had concrete solutions he'd bring to the table as Mayor. .../1

Since 2011, infrastructure funding has decreased by nearly 60% — leaving cities to pick up the bill while more responsibilities are downloaded onto us.

As Mayor, I will always work collaboratively with the province, but never at the cost of a bad deal for Edmonton.
andrewknack.bsky.social
If the province truly wants to support Edmontonians and reduce municipal taxes, one clear way would be to restore the funding that has been cut.
andrewknack.bsky.social
Edmontonians - we all feel the weight of rising costs.

Yesterday, the province released a mandate letter that included exploring and recommending ways to limit municipal tax increases.

Events like Mosquers Film Festival remind us of the power of the arts to bring people together and highlight the diverse voices that make our city stronger.

It was wonderful to join the community at this year’s Mosquers Film Festival - a celebration of storytelling, creativity, & culture.

I was grateful for the chance to connect with Lieutenant Governor Salma Lakhani, whose leadership & commitment to building an inclusive Alberta continues to inspire.
