The way Mason bounces the 14-yard run outside of Garrett, who spikes inside vs. interior run duo is *chef's kiss*, setting up Hockenson perfectly against Garrett's momentum. Mason didn't always have perfect feel in this one, but that was a good rep.

Vikings' run game vs CLE
• 18att/70yd; only Gibbs-led Lions have fared better against Browns
• Best success rate from 3WR (4 of 6), but biggest plays (3ydTD, 9yd, 14yd) from 2TE; they're 6th in NFL w/ 4.8 yds/att from 2TE
• Here's 6-play cutup from 2TE. Good stuff from Hockenson + Fries

Hah, no, but still a strong list of the longest streaks of at least one TFL per game. (Garrett, of course, no longer has an active streak)

This was the scene at kickoff outside Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, where the ticketing app NFL One Pass was allegedly down for everyone. The fan who sent the photo says security eventually let everyone in without checks. Sounds like it got testy outside w/ security and angry fans.

Receiver Jordan Addison missed a walkthrough, leading to his first-quarter benching. Addison was worried he wouldn't play at all. "I owned up to it... Needed to be there for my team."

Bye week plans?
"I'm going to be around the building, catching with J.J. McCarthy. Just getting ready with him."

“We’d been hearing how good this front was all week,” Darrisaw said, “and got tired of it.”

Darrisaw said he "listened to his body" and exited the game before the fourth quarter. O'Connell commended him for playing all 76 snaps in Dublin, a workload that left him needing extra time off this week

The most impressive stat on how this Vikings' patchwork O-line performed:

They're the ones who snapped Myles Garrett's 11-game streak of having at least one tackle for a loss. He would've been just the fifth defender since 2000 to reach 12 in a row.

Christian Darrisaw played all 76 snaps a week ago in Dublin, but he needed two rest days (as opposed to typical one) during the week of practices. He has been replaced in this fourth quarter with Justin Skule at left tackle and Walter Rouse at right tackle.

Vikings still trail 17-14 after kicker Will Reichard misses from 51 yards away. That's Reichard's first missed kick of this season.

Carson Wentz has thrice tried to run on third downs in this game and none of them have worked. Didn't seem to need to take off in that pocket, but he did.

Browns march 69 yards in 13 plays to retake the lead. Quinshon Judkins did most of the work with 47 yards rushing and receiving on that drive. Dillon Gabriel finds David Njoku for a 9-yard touchdown on third and goal, rifling a pass between Byron Murphy Jr. and Theo Jackson

Vikings trail 17-14

Hockenson emphatically pointed at Mason after that 14-yard run like, "fuck yeah."

Vikings take 14-10 lead with an 8-play, 71-yard touchdown drive capped by Jordan Mason's TD run.

Plays of the drive: Jefferson's leaping 21-yard catch over Newsome, who was called for DPI on earlier play, followed by Mason's 14-yard run in which TE T.J. Hockenson set the edge w/ great run block

Carson Wentz (left shoulder) questionable to return after taking a hit from Browns LB Carson Schwesinger, a rookie second-round pick, on the previous drive.

QB Max Brosmer taking snaps from Blake Brandel and talking with QBs coach Josh McCown on the sideline.

Because it's away from Myles Garrett

@andrewkrammer.bsky.social why are Vikings running behind Skule instead of Darrisaw in important situations? Does KOC not know who is on the field?
andrewkrammer.bsky.social
Good stuff by Dallas Turner on the QB option by Dillon Gabriel. Stayed in position on the QB and prevented him from finding the corner. Vikings prepared for a play that Joe Flacco wasn't exactly running previously.

Vikings went back to the well on the perimeter flip (that got nine yards from Zavier Scott), but Browns S Grant Deplit was ready for that one on 3rd-short. He tackles Jordan Mason short of the first-down marker, forcing a Vikings punt.

Since he's healthy and available, it was obviously a coaching decision. But was it disciplinary? Seems that way.
andrewkrammer.bsky.social
Addison in on the third drive. Unclear why he was held out of the first two series, but we'll see what O'Connell says afterward
andrewkrammer.bsky.social
Haven't seen him yet, curiously. He warmed up with the team and is on the sideline with the offense. Not on injury report.
skol6ab.bsky.social
Any concerns on Addison? He wasn’t out at all on that drive.

Some trickeration with running back Cam Akers taking a wildcat snap and tossing a 32-yard touchdown to tight end Josh Oliver. Akers has been dapped up by everyone on the Vikings sideline afterward, including QB J.J. McCarthy.
andrewkrammer.bsky.social
That was a little too easy for Browns QB Dillon Gabriel, who just threw his first NFL touchdown pass to fellow rookie TE Harold Fannin Jr. Play-action toss, gets behind Eric Wilson.

Browns' early run success is bad news for Vikings, makes those play-action tosses even easier
andrewkrammer.bsky.social
Jekyll & Hyde run defense still at it ... 32-yard run by Quinshon Judkins went by LDR and Theo Jackson ... then Eric Wilson and Greenard team up to get the stop on 3rd-short.

Judkins gets the yard on 4th1 near goal line.
