I think there’s a fascinating study to be done comparing today’s billionaires with those of 100 and more years ago. The Rockefellers, the Carnegies, the Vanderbilts, they have no like today.

Then we talked for two ours, slide by slide, on my Hamas lecture. It was the best such discussion I’ve ever had. Not sure I softened her views much, but she sure improved my lectures.

Last year I had a strong anarchist in my terrorism class. I noticed her right away because of her Built to Spill shirt. I found out she was an anarchist when she came to my office hours and criticized my lecture slides on the turn of the last century anarchist terrorism.
