I don't know enough to evaluate those changes. But I'd rather risk a nuclear accident (and we do have two nuclear plants here in Charlotte) than the collapse of Atlantic currents.

Tomorrow he can announce that DOJ will pay him $1B for "illegal" search of Mar-a-Lago AND that he has ruled out invasion of Greenland. What do you think everybody will be talking about?

Is it actually irrational fixation (that is very possible for him) or a (so far) successful attempt to distract us from everything else? The unreleased Epstein files are forgotten, bad employment and inflation numbers are barely mentioned, and never mind peace in Ukraine or Jack Smith testimony.

The Ottoman Empire was also imperialist and practiced slavery. But only Western imperialism counts. Fundamentally, self-proclaimed anti-imperialists in the West believe their own societies to be evil. Everything else follows from that.

But it's anti-Western. That's the only thing that matters. Western "imperialists" want it to end, therefore it must be supported.

BTW here we are waiting for Benedict XVI on the fourth day of our marriage. Had to take an additional suitcase just for these outfits.

I occasionally wore suits on transcontinental and even transatlantic flights. But mostly because I found that easier than carefully packing a suit, especially when traveling with just a carry-on bag. I drew the line at tuxedo though (wore it to the Papal audience - my wife wore her wedding dress).

Nice three nights there. Then three nights in Sorrento just down the road, looking at Vesuvius and Pompeii from our balcony across the bay (I made sure we had the view).

It was open. One of the entrances was a block or two away. But I got the impression that most tourists were entering elsewhere, probably some place with lots of space for tour buses. The street was closed to traffic, but when I told police the hotel name, they let me through. Herculaneum is smaller.

But has not it been recorded? During our honeymoon we stayed for three night at the hotel on the other side of the street from the excavations, but could not even see anything from our balcony because of the trees. We also went to Vesuvius and Herculaneum. And to a supermarket to buy a lot of wine.

It's actually smart. They KNOW that Putin will reject their proposals anyway. So why irritate Trump by changing another point? He spoke of this earlier, he wants it. They agree to give it to him, they look accommodating. It's not their fault Putin rejects the whole plan, right?

So far the media don't even bother to comment on #20. Here's a mini-dictionary. "Nazi ideology" is the notion that there's Ukrainian national identity distinct from the Russian one. "Racism" means "Russophobia", i.e. any suggestion that Russia has ever done anything wrong.

There's no way the Ukrainians will accept it. People focus on territory and disarmament, but those are just small potatoes. The meat of the plan is #20, which effectively outlaws Ukrainian national identity and gives Moscow control over Ukrainian schools (as well as churches).
