So happy that I got the chance today to see “The Clock” by one of my favourite artists, Christian Marclay.

We watched about 2,5 hours. Incredible stuff.

And the Neue National Gallerie remains awesome.

A splash of yellow in white Berlin.

I did it!

I ran 1000 km in 2025, with a day to spare. I was welcomed home and received a certificate from my daughter.

Thanks to @superkash.bsky.social for the inspiration!

Amazing present from my son- an Italian #cheese to mature at home, sealed in an earthenware container that you have to smash when you reach the desired age. I think we’ll choose 4 months (will be Feb).

It’s a Christmas miracle! 3 empty paper #recycling bins!

And the ghost of Christmas past: an overstuffed plastic/metal bin (‘Wertstoff’ aka ‘Gelbe Sack’).

Martin Parr died. What a shame. He was an incredible artist and documentarian. I have had this famous photo on my desk for 20 years.

Frank Gehry (who has died aged 96) was brilliant. Of course, his Guggenheim in Bilbao is stunning but I always remember his beautifully integrated “Dancing House” - ginger and Fred - by the river in Prague.

Here's a little drawing that I adapted for today's lecture in our Master course NeuroBiophysics at @humboldtuni.bsky.social.

Eagles have a double fovea in each eye, a movable cornea, a flat, avascular retina, and other optimisations that make their vision spectacular!

I highly recommend this exhibition at Fotografiska.

Also, I was moved to see that the gallery has preserved the ‘Treppenhäuser” (stairwells) from the Tacheles colony. I thought they were gone forever.

Memories.

These used to be everywhere in Berlin.

Yup. The puncture repair investors say thanks, insensitive anti-slip gravel distributors!

But seriously, how can gravel tyres (Schwalbe G ONE R PRO, I did not choose them, came with the bike, which is not a gravel bike) be so bad with…. gravel?

Your daily reminder that AI "knowledge" is low quality.

Does PGE2 (in inflammation) activate/upregulate sodium #ionchannels important in pain? It's unclear.

AI-answer #1 ("PGE activation of NaV") is a dud, it's wrong.

AI-answer #2 ("PGE activation of TTX-R") is bluster, and lacks perspective.

Calcium and magnesium in the pore of NMDA receptors!

Lipids play an unexpected role. The hydration shells of Ca2+ and Mg2+ could be the difference between permeation and block. So much physiology in the energetics of H2O.

Very stimulating work! Congrats @lab-furukawa.bsky.social
