Plenty of other small studios could bid on projects but might not profitable for them, or they might prefer to go after more lucrative ad productions etc.. many reason why they do or don't bid on blockbusters.

They were large but they were not “owns” every studio other then Framestore and Disney.

It will be interesting to hear if this ends up been a global shutdown or just North America.. Either way it sucks for those who have just found out that they have lost their jobs.
