This material limit also produced a lot of novel/fun solutions to the need to have randomizers in early Japanese TRPGs. I personally love Tokyo NOVA's use of a tarot deck.

Just for a bit of levity on the timeline, I want to strongly recommend The Hotspot (ホットスポット) on Netflix. Just incredible writing and comedic delivery in the two episodes I've watched so far. Can't wait to watch the rest.

Oh FUCK yeah
A chicken tagine, in which whole chicken legs have been slow stewed in a butter and red onion sauce before being finished in the broiler. The skin on the legs is perfectly crispy, and the legs are nestled down into the sauce. The tagine lid, resting against the base, is white with an attractive blue pattern decorating it.

So uhhhhh.... I guess it was 宵山？？ I'm a terrible Kyoto resident.

Having just climbed Hikone Castle the other day, can confirm. Would not want to be invading this place.
Exterior of the main keep (tenshu) at Hikone castle. It is grand and imposing, even for a relatively small keep, resting on a stone foundation probably 10 feet tall. Mascot character Hikonyan is visible in the foreground as a cardboard standee. View out of a window inside the main keep. Layers of walls top a steep hill, and the famous Genkyuen gardens. In the distance are a couple of Hikone's sports stadiums. Stairs inside the main keep. They are very, very steep and narrow. In the foreground, the door to those stairs. It is a heavy, riveted iron.

A wide vista looking out over brightly colored houses that extend up the side of a mountain in terraces. This is Gamcheon Culture Village in Busan. A random collection of colorful buildings on two terraces, one row at about roof-level of the other. The Little Prince (a Gamcheon mascot) is the subject of a mural taking up one building's entire wall. Another of the many murals in Gamcheon is partially obscured behind a building. A set of stairs seen from below (part of the 148 Stairs). A mosaic is spread across the front of each stair. A row of wooden statues somewhat reminiscent of Moai heads, if Moai heads had wild, animalistic expressions.
