Made a "blink sketch" (can blink e.g. twice a day) that uses the WatchDog Timer and Sleep mode. The difference in power consumption is that of a week vs 10 years (1:500) on an ideal battery, and that's with my board which is already low power (I can isolate the power light, USB/FTDI & Regul). 26.5uA

Some later Permian things.

Thumb through hole, one finger in trigger hole. I guess the other fingers are kept straight. I made this redesign for a setting with aliens so it might not be an issue. On the original ZB 47 I think the fingers could reach down around around the magazine because it wasn't curved out.

Ah, so I had I 9mm parabellum round laying about, and just rolled it on the floor. It's hard to tell normally, but they actually do have a taper to them, so they roll in an arc. This taper helps the case to eject from the barrel, but was a problem for the ZB 47's long straight magazine.

Hi. Redesign of the Czech ZB 47 (post ww2 era unadopted protoype), but with a curved magazine for funzies. This fully automatic rifle had an unusual rotary mechanism that was engaged by the recoil and spring, twisting the rounds up into the chamber.

Oh, I don't know what has happened. I thought it was a scraping DDoS first, but those only last a little while.

Upon noticing this I quickly made a backup of my working extensions and Profile folder on an unaffected machine so I can force the files back if necessary. Reinstalling the extensions (i.e. their newest versions) from mozilla's page (into an old ff) won't work because of the cert verification thing.
androidarts.bsky.social
Afaik they changed some certificate thing which made older versions of firefox kick out newer addons. Does seem like a shenanigan they pulled to force people to upgrade to new ESR 128 base ff version. This is especially punitive to older HW which won't run ESR 128 ff & forks like librewolf, floorp.

I thought about it, but I'd rather have them 1:1 tbh (more pixels per bandwidth and some images can't be too small).
The text div is just for keeping the line length down.

Oh yeah, could be, could be. I mean the same goes for linux... it can get a bit weird once you start replacing window managers and stuff.

I bought my machine and kind of didn't use it... just let it update every now and then. Just needed the OS in order to run some software (didn't want to VM).

Thanks for the headsup. Yeah, the timing was pretty sus... I just uploaded my Windows11 error file to it after all. Maybe Apache got angry.
androidarts.bsky.social
Self inflicted how? No, my computer is vanilla, no extra installs, no registry stuff. I have barely visited a website (maybe like microsoft, and a testing google). All I do is start up notepad, pretty much. It hasn't even been on the internet this month because I wanted to work uninterrupted.
androidarts.bsky.social
It "got better" after a few reboots.

Computer actually has one of those flash drives because it's a cheapy. I'm gonna plop an M2 thing inside at some point to remedy it.

Huh, my site died?

I should message #Microsoft and ask whether this html file makes the W11 explode on their side as well :P
It's just

(text)

though.
androidarts.bsky.social
Alright, does this file display? I found a way to make browsers show text files with no HTML clutter, just a little style header setting CSS white-space. Good for my text-only writings, showing UTF-8 chars + paper colour.

(hope this wasn't what caused W11crash)

I found that firefox has a setting in the config for turning off the cache, which also helps to reduce writes (from videos like music and audio books).

That sounds like a good idea. Any specific directory which works? C:MyStuff/ or what? I just put stuff on my desktop (cuz Explorer is meh), but that's in the user dir.

"Thankfully" W11 was so bad that I didn't use the machine for anything important, and most of the time I save onto a thumbstick.

I currently use 2x Mac OS, 2x Linux, 1x W11, 2x Amiga WB, (2x misc RPi), and the MSX bios if you count that. The only reason I don't throw the W11 laptop out the window is Narrator TtS which I use for editing writing, and some gov. software needing Windows.
Does Linux have a good TtS? Haven't looked

A followed a guide which said... just restart spam, and it worked. Sort of. My Desktop changed colour to an umbrage black, certainly catching my mood. Rescued file, with a small addendum of recent events:

This machine had been offline for weeks, so not a virus issue.

Seems like it logged me into another profile, like a guest, despite explicitly saying it logged into "me". Found some empty user folders, most were empty but I finally found my files in one, so expect that log soon...
androidarts.bsky.social
Huh? No, it just deleted all my files. It "prepared windows" when I rebooted. Probably cleared my user account since it did eventually log in.

I had stuff I had been working on for a few weeks and not backed up :/
androidarts.bsky.social
I was gonna post another long Windows 11 issues log, but the machine soft-bricked trying to open an ordinary html file. User profile problem. All my files are gone? Thanks.

Maybe I can find them as admin?
androidarts.bsky.social
Permaban / full deletion was certainly a thing on forums, but it mostly applied to malicious "rando" signups. Regular users didn't see it because it got deleted. I remember a few places even had some IP ranges blocked when things got out of hand.
Temp ban regulars were more talked about & visible.
androidarts.bsky.social
There was also additional friction... you didn't often go to other niche forums and even if you did and then saw a post you felt you had a strong reply to, then you might not bother to sign up, unless you were REALLY instigated, in which case you were easy to spot and ban.
