British trains strike again! 🤣 after a great experience a week ago, trying to get any train on Sunday in this country is a bad joke, after a 3 hour wait at the station all trains are now cancelled 😩

@trafficscotland.bsky.social thanks for closing the M74 on my way home tonight! added an extra 30 mins to my journey after a 14 hour work shift, dicks!

I Don’t care if people think it’s boring but seeing pogi take 3 mins out of Simmons in 20km is still super impressive! and dropping Remco for a minute in 5km, 🤯
love it! especially in the afternoon #illombardia sunshine, just need the old skool finish in the comms car fiat headlights to be perfect

First bit of cycling on to i’ve seen in ages, sat on a new sofa in a new house with my wife off for her national opera company debut tonight, and watching #illombardia on italia telly via a vpn while the wee one plays quietly!
🤪🤣🤷‍♂️

Why do conveyancing solicitors leave everything until after the last minute? Are they just really really rubbish or do they actually have a good reason??!

One of the best books I’ve read in ages, some of the tales of the races i watched as an inspired kid, and a really sensitive and gently inspiring story of someone truly finding themselves. Well done @pippayork.bsky.social this is the book I’ve waited years to read, it doesn’t disappoint in any way!

Thanks @inrng.com am now watching la vuelta on Spanish tv as opposed to pirate feeds, far better quality and no ads!

Cannot recommend this enough, witty and erudite and educational as ever @doctorhutch.bsky.social
tales of sickness on A roads at night aside 🤣

Late summer reading sorted thanks to local bookshop Chapters of Thornhill, D&G @pippayork.bsky.social @doctorhutch.bsky.social

am loving this @letourfr.bsky.social so far! oscar onley climbing like no scot since Millar! Pogi & Vingegard battling for seconds everywhere with MvDP pushing them and Remco still chasing, and young french talent like we haven’t seen for ages, with Vauquelin and Gregoire, proper ciclismo to see!

I used to really enjoy pubs, somebody would usually always talk to you, not anymore folk just talk to whoever they’re with, or sit staring at phones, 😢
ironically it’s made me do the same!

Why are “bean to cup” coffee machines the norm everywhere now?
I have NEVER had a good coffee from one ever, do most people think this is what coffee should taste like????

Beautiful day and warm weather, must be a rest day off the bike planned! 🤪🙄🤨
still back to cold and cloudy tomorrow, aw 3 hours in the diary!!!
March 9, 2025 at 2:49 PM
in the interests of not losing fitness whilst working away, am just off to do my first ever #parkrun first Leeds, who knows where next! 🤣
March 8, 2025 at 8:15 AM
trofeo laguilia is currently far better viewing than either of the belgian races last weekend!!!
hope the rest of classics season aren’t going to be dull sprint finishes too!! #couchpeloton
March 5, 2025 at 2:38 PM
Not the most inspiring results from #openingweekend, combination of form not there yet, headwinds, and too many sprint teams, but great to see the first races on the most fun roads to watch bike racing on again! kudos to Stefan’s Kung and Bisseger & Tim Wellens for trying to light it up a bit!
March 3, 2025 at 8:59 AM
yay, watching cycling on my laptop, and not on tnt! glad it works and i might be able to watch the races i love most, (classics, belgian mainly) without giving wbd £31 a month!’
February 6, 2025 at 2:25 PM
Right that’s Discovery+ subscription cancelled, how the hell am i going to be able to watch de ronde now???
answers on a postcard please!

Things I have learnt today riding my bike:
Yes the Road Closed sign is real
The 7km off road gravel path over the hill to avoid the road block is not easy on a lowest gear of 39/27
Or on 28mm tyres at 5.5 bar
Or with full mudguards
I should try cyclocross
I prefer roads
Galloway is the best place!

Also, first proper outdoor ride of the year today, with my 3 year old, to the park and back, in her new helmet.
January 1, 2025 at 5:27 PM
Cap for indoor training tonight, #RIPGianiSavio a great inspiration to so many young riders over the past so many years!!! Surely will be sorely missed in the Italian cycling world, and finish line suit sprinting world, and podcast appearances!
