It also seems to suggest that both sides were what could probably be called "select" sides.

If it wasn't for the caricature I would have assumed that the Celts in the photo were wearing hoops.
The Sunday Post is the only mention (I have seen) of the change at half-time.

No, I was hoping someone else would be able to shed some light on it.
It did appear strange to have a change of shirt available for an away game. (Also strange that it wasn't a 2nd set of the same jersey.)
The only similar style strips I have seen in photos are usually worn by goalkeepers.

Possible death in South Shields in March 1957. (Lidstone)

R Findlay in this photo is Roderick Findlay from Broughty Ferry.
Roderick died on the 15th December 1919 at his home at 36 Fort Street, Broughty Ferry, and is buried in Barnhill Cemetery.

No commemoration on the Scottish National War Memorial, nor CWGC.
