Pictured with Sithanary Kim. She’s back in #Cambodia for a visit from her home in the USA. It was her interview with British TV in 1970 that first brought her to my, and many others attention, after it resurfaced on Youtube last year. She had no idea at the time how it would impact her life forever.

The Norton Simon museum in USA possesses these two early 10th century Khmer stone statues of Vishnu (left) and Shiva, which are almost identical. Evidence of their looting from #Cambodia in the 1970s can be seen with their damaged arms and missing feet. It’s nigh on time they were returned home.

This doesn’t look Khmer - head of Male Deity, 12-13th century, sandstone, labelled as being with Khmer tribal anatomical features, as part of the Corfu Museum of Asian Art in Greece. Any ideas anyone?

Definitely a Khmer face though the diadem and chignon aren’t regular-style that I’ve seen before. A stone/cement version of modern origin I’d suggest. I don’t know of the two named people either.
andybrouwer.bsky.social
I presume this is in Hong Kong. It looks a very Khmer face though the shape and pattern of the diadem and chignon aren’t seen in any Angkor style as far as I know. It looks pretty weathered stone, so must’ve been there a while. Not encountered the names before.

Gargantuan puzzle to solve for #Cambodia authorities as they seek to locate and rescue 540 colossal stone heads and return them to the 5 entry gates of Angkor Thom. Their current focus is on Victory Gate, where they dug up this head recently. There are 108 heads at each gate.
