Can only see it as some sort of back 3 / midfield diamond system with Wirtz behind a front 2 of Isak and Salah. Bradley/Frimpong and Kerkez providing width. Mac and Dom behind. Grav as one of the centre backs…?

It’s tricky to be fair. No move at right back. Reserve centre back is having knee injections just to train. Chiesa only real alternative out wide. Ekitike/Wirtz out.

7 of the next 9 are against current bottom half teams. Spurs and Sunderland are the other two. Hopefully we can get a good run going now.

I think Wirtz LW/RW will have to be the way forward until he’s up to speed, with the full back providing the width & MacAllister a bit deeper.

Sounds a bit like Szoboszlai. I’d like to see him moved back one and spend the money on a more creative 10 - Simons for example.

Great stuff. For me, Gutiérrez seems the obvious candidate - even more so if Trent were to leave with him being so comfortable inverting. Real might be a factor though.
