The 2nd amendment hasn’t enabled the overthrow of any tyrannical govt. For every person who has used a gun to deter or even shoot a criminal, many more innocents have died due to a gun being in the home. 2A has done nothing but cause death, suffering and misery. Repeal it so we can end gun violence.

Good guys w guns have been shot (sometimes fatally as has happened here in the Denver area) by cops arriving on scene who have no way to tell good guy from bad guy when making snap decision while lead is flying. I noticed Mr. al Ahmed had the good sense to set the gun down once the gunman ran away.

Searching for contraband, explosives, weapons, and such at border entry points is reasonable. Threatening someone w detention for not allowing access to one’s personal or professional electronic devices in the absence of a judicial warrant is tyrannical.

I know that won’t happen tomorrow or next year or probably even next decade. But let’s put it out there so that we can eventually get rid of that amendment and eliminate the #1 jurisprudential impediment to effective gun laws. The death, suffering, and misery it has caused isn’t worth it.

If you’re someone who finds this divisive, perhaps you’re someone whose beliefs and actions cause the division you decry. I think it comports nicely with the entire point of Jesus.

Rep. Crockett has been one of the more inspiring leading lights of opposition and resistance. She has used the rhetorical and procedural tools available to her to good effect (said procedural tools being, sadly, inherently weak for the minority caucus). I fully support her primary bid for the nom.

Repeal the 2nd Amendment. It’s preserved nobody’s freedom and it has caused more death, suffering, and misery than it’s worth. It’s an archaic relic standing in the way of solving the problem.
