Still Waiting for the Great Leap Forwards..
Support Grimsby Town Football Club and Kent County Cricket Club. I know, it's complicated.
Fan of Billy Bragg, Bruce Springsteen, Steve Knightley, Police Dog Hogan, Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen etc.
Obviously don't know what is going on behind the scenes, but I do get the feeling that this is an act on an endless loop whilst Europe seems more focussed on internal squabbling rather than capacity building.

Questions where the answers are wrong is always a favourite at quizzes.

Should have got Visage and didn't think you would stoop to Band Aid...

Good one. Stuck after Slik and Ultravox.

I did some audio recordings from films: Name the film. One guy told me that a team mate of his got very irate insisting that the clip of David Bowie as Pilate talking about the skulls at Golgotha in "The Last Temptation of Christ" was actually "Educating Rita."

And you haven't even heard them! To be fair only one was a real "stopper."
December 4, 2025 at 11:56 AM
That sounds good! What was the quote?
December 4, 2025 at 11:51 AM
Possibly went down as welk as my five versions of "All Along the Watchtower" in a pop quiz.

I agree. 50 years ago uou would wait all week for a serious column on a major aspect of policy by, say, Peter Jenkins or Hugo Young. Or, maybe, there would be a big, setpiece interview with a leading politician.
Now even "serious" commentators are caught up in the frenzy of rolling news.

I stopped baking cakes when I found out that Prue Leith was Danny Kruger's mother.

I agree about the inheritance and it is a big job to turn it round. But that's as far as it goes.

Ok. this is him on Twitter in March 2023.

"To be honest, I am actually quite bitter about Keir Starmer lying his way to the Labour leadership and then failing to take a stand against nauseating Tory policies."

So consistent and backed with plenty of evidencem
November 27, 2025 at 7:55 PM
Fair enough. No doubt you can provide evidence for this?
November 27, 2025 at 7:04 PM
Well, as Owen Jones would, rightly, say: Starmer is just a shameless liar.
November 27, 2025 at 5:50 PM
And, of course, he said that Lewis Goodall was a woke, pinko. Or words to that effect. Peerless objectivity.
November 24, 2025 at 10:05 PM
Yeah, but , Orban's a great bloke: his mate, Tim Montgimerie said so.
November 24, 2025 at 10:02 PM
Like he rejected the findings of the Standards Committee.
November 23, 2025 at 8:26 AM
Because they need the huge majority to win another huge majority and thus guarantee a full ten years of drift and non achievement.
November 22, 2025 at 12:43 PM
I think the same about Blundell Park, although I do notice that it gets harder and harder to park.
November 22, 2025 at 12:39 PM
"I have a question, what exactly is funny about “biggus dickus”?"
November 20, 2025 at 12:49 PM
I just find it mind boggling that it's only just over a year since I was thinking, "if nothing else, this lot will be competent.."
Wow!
November 18, 2025 at 1:23 PM
Can't think of a more apposite time for the words of Pete Seeger:

"Well, I'm not going to point any moral,
I'll leave that for yourself.......
But every time I read the papers
That old feeling comes on;
We're, waist deep in the Big Muddy
And the big fool says to push on."
November 18, 2025 at 1:18 PM
Who was pushing Cooper to do it?
November 18, 2025 at 10:51 AM
Sebastian Payne with the smug grin of a thirteen year old who has just coined the phrase "phallic punchline"
