Andy, December already?
@andyg64.bsky.social
Ancient. Oligomath. Left-hander. Socialist. Arthur Ransome, Patrick O'Brian, loads of SF. Sails dinghies, loves cooking and gardening and woodwork and diy and numbers and puns and stuff like that. Has a horde of cats.
I hope I've remembered the quote correctly, but my favourite line from A Knight's Tale is from Kate, the armourer: "I've found a new way to heat metal."

Given that most of the basic bread I eat is toasted, my awesome Samsung fridge gives me a week+ out of one loaf.

Uh-oh. "Halcyon on and on" via yoootooob, now. Good thing I'm not on at 8am tomorrow.

Oh, wait: "So I am".

It is, apparently, both long and boring.

On our 20th wedding anniversary, last October, daughter bought us a Record Player.

And *this* Christmas she bought me The Orbital's album with 'Belfast' on vinyl.

Such a star! She knows me too well. Thanks, Jess.

...Raving, tonight. Of course.

...I did not have a daughter in 1992.

Roll on to 2003. I'm now in Scotland, and single.

Online I met a single woman from Northern Ireland. *She* had a daughter in 1989. We married a year or so later.

But what the?

(I do sometimes pee indoors, btw.)

What the? I demand to pee on tree trunks as high up as possible/into long grass from afar/make snow yellow in pretty patterns.

(It's the only practical benefit of Y-chromosomes, no?)

Thing is: the last item I found in my parents' house's clearance, in the very last cupboard, was My Duck. He'd been put in a box, maybe 55 years ago.

My last night there, in an empty house, and front of a roaring stove, Duck and I remembered memories.

...Today? Duck lives here.

ASDA's Scottish Self-scans offer 'Welsh' as an option. 🤔
