If trump read this book, he'd ban it. What do you think?

(In NYC)
I pointed to one of the bagels...
“What’s a French Toasted?” I begged.
The gaze turned into a broad smile.
“Oh my God, you’re English! What you doing here,
hun?”
“Just moved here”, I replied. And with that, I got the
full lowdown on what a French toasted bagel was."

Today's excerpt from 'ONLY IN AMERICA'
"Sighing deeply, I turned to look at what JFK’s deportation
lounge had done to my passport. There, next to the original ‘Visa Approved' stamp, was another 'Visa Approved' stamp.
I may be the only person in America to have been immigrated twice."

"With the key to my room in hand, I boarded the elevator. As it rose to heights, I didn't know it could; I just wished my brain hadn't projected a flashback of watching that film, 'Towering Inferno'." (p14)

'ONLY IN AMERICA'.
"Wait right there, mister", she commanded.
I moved purposefully to the spot she pointed to. Standing anywhere else felt like I might receive the severest rebuke for not doing as I was told. Within seconds, a wave of her white gloves had brought a yellow cab screeching to a halt."

"Purposefully strutting up and down behind them, was a female officer, hands clasped behind her back, hair tied in a tight bun, her face cast in stone, expressionless. She had all the appearance of someone who could sentence you to death with a slight twitch of her head." (p5) #booksky #writers

Writing a book is like painting a picture. It's never finished until you no longer desire to change it.

"As we left the studio, I took one last look at the entrance to the old Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer studios and, suppressing an urge to cross the road and ask if they needed a new star, climbed back into the Jeep to be whisked from the scene as the credits rolled." (p121) #booksky
