I am so angry at K’s response and so grateful to you for stating what once was regarded as normal in the old fact based evidence based world.

senedd.wales/senedd-now/s... In this new system with 1 vote per person , as In example tanking Lab cd be “party D” with no seats so I’m tactically voting Plaid!
Senedd election 2026: What is the D’Hondt formula and how does it work?
The Welsh Parliament is the democratically elected body that represents the interests of Wales and its people. Commonly known as the Senedd, it makes laws for Wales, agrees Welsh taxes and holds the W...

W hayward substack comments show v large shift from lab to plaid some on conviction, some tactical. Only a few lab to reform. could end up with coalition of plaid green lib dem excluding Labour. attitude to welsh lab from Westminster lab a definite factor. It’s why I’m considering Plaid.

Also uk Lab not treating Senedd differently from prev govt eg HS2 still supposedly benefiting Wales. tactical voting within bloc makes sense cos we now only have one option from the choices, no2nd preference. look at how vote works on Senedd website.

I know the answer for Welsh cities but it's controversial if like me you live in Llandaff. It became a suburb of Cardiff in 1920s and always regarded itself as a city because it has an ancient cathedral. Cardiff has been a city "only'' since 1905. So we're an old city within a city by ancient right!

how tedious to be somebody, how public like a frog, to tell your name the livelong day to a admiring bog. ( from memory so might not be entirely accurate)

And the nights are not full enough
And life slips past like the fieldmouse

I read today someone was insisting on his ancient right for trial by combat & public body taking him to court should put forward a Champion. Put stuff on the internet and people will believe anything. Magna Carta used a lot by ppl on right wing fringe so desperate Jenrick quoting it regularly.

Times headlines on money so depressingly predictable. Always look after your own pile!

Remember WC Fields- if at first you don’t succeed try again - then give up. No point making a damnd fool of yourself. four times? Move on!

I don't like this being commented on by Boris Johnson who lost his job for inventing a source for a story who then complained - though otherwise of course BJ is a man of complete integrity.

The Times/Sunday Times email newsletter on the weekend started with a paragraph confidently telling us what a disaster it was for Starmer's Westminster Labour Party that he had lost the election for Caerphilly's MP to Plaid Cymru. Hello- it wasn't a Westminster election! I didn't read further.

Also they’ll complain that “they“don’t integrate but when people integrate in work & start successful families, even sometimes “mixed” they show their deeper dislike/fear of losing “cultural integrity” - another camouflage for racial “purity.” Language really is power.

You’re right there. Especially when so many old ppl - I’m 71- seem blind to the difficulties of younger people. even if they can help those in their own families they don’t see that insecurity at work and inability to get decent housing etc for so many is holding back the whole country.

I realised that pretty much straight away. No one is indispensable.

71. I dont recognise myself in any of this. Perhaps I’m untypical. I like being anonymous as some old guy in public. I avoid committees etc. Im absorbed in my interests. I remember so much tosh from old ppl in the 70s about the wonderful past. im not going to be so wretched & bitter myself.

we've also had Farage on the radio on the old "they're eating swans and carp from the parks" this morning. Royal Parks have dismissed this rapidly.

Especially if Reform is the largest party which is increasingly likely & in spirit of voting system. Worth reading @willhaycardiff.bsky.social on these matters. Lab didn't think their vote in Scotland wd evaporate and it did. And Wales now is even more ignored than Scotland was then.

hear poor rogues
Talk of court news; and we'll talk with them too,
Who loses and who wins; who's in, who's out;

and we'll wear out,
In a wall'd prison, packs and sects of great ones,
That ebb and flow by the moon.

Every reshuffle I think of this …
