I know it’s not Stanford because “the team is bad” is our brand.

Instead of saying it clearly in one spot, they just slide it around, so for example, they now define a "Professional Athletics Team" as paying money not allowed by the NCAA (since otherwise all teams paying "rev share" money would be professional).
12.02.7 Professional Athletics Team. A professional team is any organized team that...
(a) Provides any of its players more than actual and necessary expenses for participation on the team, except as otherwise
permitted by NCAA legislation

NCAA watchers may be interested (or may already know) but in the most recent edition of the NCAA's D1 manual, they have removed the notorious definition of "pay" where it wasn't pay if the NCAA allowed it. That's still in the rules but it's no longer crystalized in a rule like this from 2024-25.
12.02.10 Pay. Pay is the receipt of funds, awards or benefits not permitted by the governing legislation of the Association for
participation in athletics.

President Trump has called off efforts to reach a diplomatic agreement with Venezuela, according to U.S. officials, paving the way for a potential military escalation against drug traffickers or the government of Nicolás Maduro.

some people say Trump is bigger than Jesus. To be fair, Jesus didn't produce much after his mid-30s.

We can objective agree the USA is not a fascist country. But I thinkt he goal of the Trumpo admin is to weaken the guardrails against it until it can cross the line. Like hey, let's get a private army of friednyl state national guards and also a paramilitary of guys in masks. So we're ready.
andyhre.bsky.social
yes, agreed. I just am less sanguine than you are that this is not just our versions of the Beer Hall Putsch etc.

Like Hitler went to jail. Laws were enforced.

What Trump id doing is how I would do the USA version of getting elected Chancellor and THEN saying "surprise!"
