Bagpiper in central Massachusetts. Member of Fellswater! Caretaker of way too many chickens.
Funny, I actually just brought them to our ski weekend in NH. I thought they were great, but they confused Lisa. Are they mapley sweet or cheddary? Somehow having both in a bag doesn’t compute in her noggin.

Not as much as we’d like. Yes, it’s a lovely place, with or without the summit

But you need to plan another hour or so to visit, drink and walk our trails!

Lisa hiked it last weekend and said it was great. Fewer people, which is always good.

Out this way, Douglas State Forest is teaming with trails, some quite nice. And Purgatory Chasm (and little Purgatory).

Northumbrian are lovely too. Sweet sounding and a super fun range. But the learning curve is wicked steep.

Are you in Mass? I’ve been trying to get a smallpipers group together. Rather unsuccessfully so far.

I’m a year and a half late to the convo, but keep up the smallpipes. Much more peaceful and - I’ll get some slack here - musical than highland pipes. No, not nearly as dramatic and awe-inspiring, but no worries of missing grace notes or working your arse off all year for one or two competition sets.
