One could argue that the NYTimes journalists are a “small, culturally monolithic community”. Perhaps the author will have a similar revelation regarding the NyTimes as she did with Reagan and her Conservative Christian upbringing. www.nytimes.com/2025/02/16/o...
But I know now that for much of the world, the shining city on a hill appeared more like the distant compound of a Bond villain. Nancy Reagan’s antidrug campaign seemed virtuous when my fifth-grade teacher made our class memorize all the street names for PCP in case we ever encountered it in rural Alabama. I later understood the war on drugs as a prosecutorial cover for persecuting and incarcerating Black people. My isolation in a small, culturally monolithic community rendered these things invisible to me as a child, when the Reagan years were all glitter, big hair and fun.

Gallup poll from late September 2024 that shows I/P in the middle of important issues. Roughly equal with Abortion for Extremely or Very Important. Definitely not “literally at the bottom”.
Gallup poll taken from Sept 16-28, 2024 that shows Israel-Palestine issue in the middle of important issues for US registered voters in 2024 election. I/P situation says 64% think it Extremely or Very important. Abortion, was at 66% for the same metric.

You’re right! 🤦🏼‍♂️Of course they did, they understand how to use power. However, this article points out that there would be an avenue available to Gov Beshear if he wanted to be bold (my guess is that he won’t want to be bold).

I agree, Josh deserved a lot more MVP buzz in previous seasons too. Plus, imagine if Josh had stolen more of James Cook’s TDs (instead of setting him to lead the league.)

What’s this hype about deepseek? This was literally the first exchange I had with the app:
Deepseek answers the question “who won the most afc championships” as Pittsburgh Steelers with 8. (An incorrect answer) Deepseek answers my questions “who won the 2nd most AFC Championships” with New England patriots, with 7. (An incorrect answer) I asked deepseek about the times New England won in 2018 and 2019 (i was wrong) and then deepseek got the correct answer. 11 championships for new england. Google gave this answer first: NE with 11, Pittsburgh and Denver tied with 8
