I also got some helpful advice from Google AI this morning. Turns out the city in Texas is pronounced How-stun.
Query: is john huston pronounced houston. No, the surname "Huston" is not pronounced like the city of "Houston". The correct pronunciation for the director John Huston is closer to "HYOO-stuhn" (like the first syllable of "hue" followed by "stun"). This is different from how the city of Houston is pronounced, which is typically "HOW-stuhn".
