All ready for my keynote at the Business Librarians Association #BLA25 in Stirling on ‘Letting go of certainty’.

Headed to Vienna to open the joint international business librarians conference tomorrow with a keynote on uncertainty entitled: ‘Letting go of certainty’. Can uncertainty be good for us? And what can we do when faced with too much uncertainty?

About to start a #UserExperience online training session for public libraries hosted by @cilip.bsky.social. I find my iPad full screen clock to be an essential tool.

So excited to see signups from lots of new names/faces for this year’s #UXLibs (UX in Libraries).

If anyone is nervous about attending for the first time we run a buddy scheme that is intended to connect you with like-minded people before you arrive.

Arrived in Hong Kong ahead of #UserExperience work with several universities. Was expecting big tech advances since my last visit in 2016, but not really apparent yet. Most notably, cash is still king here.

I’m terrible at seeing tourist attractions while away working but made it to the Giant’s Causeway this morning and it was completely stunning.

Beautiful blue winter skies in Coleraine, Northern Ireland - University of Ulster. Can you spot my training room? #uxlibs #userexperience

As ever, I’m more intrigued by what library study furniture is not being used. In both cases I’m guessing it’s about desk space (and in pic 1: power). Staff will be actively researching this and other issues this afternoon #uxlibs #userexperience #UU #Ulster #Coleraine

Great to sign off on my consultancy with Queen’s Belfast Library today. Although User Experience has been a significant element, so has cultural transformation and staff workflows.
