If there's one trend I love in recent years, it's the "guys who are comfortable with each other but kinda goofy"

The Steam Deck is one of my favorite pieces of gaming hardware ever. It made me Ethernet up my PC, and allows me to remote play my favorite games at insane quality over near-faultless connections, with extra buttons so I can manage recording and desktop functions. Just absolutely phenomenal.

But no matter how many times he’s shut down, they’re both playful about their relationship - Zidane more so, sometimes to the annoyance of Garnet - but deep down, we all know they belong together. And I think Garnet knows that too, even though her royal duties won’t let her fully acknowledge it.

When Garnet and Zidane have to «Get married» to reach an important location, Zidane wonders whether Garnet likes him after all and suddenly wants to go all in, but when it turns out she went along with it for convenience sake, he’s understandably sad - but he’s funny about it, and so it’s charming

One of my favourite things about Final Fantasy IX is how playful it is even when it comes to topics like love. Throughout the game, Zidane is fairly open about his feelings for Garnet, and even though Garnet rejects him over and over, it’s always done in a mostly playful, «in-on-it» type way.

Of course in the end, it’s all about Sora. Roxas is, as a «nobody», half of Sora’s heart, separated from him when Sora turned the Keyblade on himself in the first game. Despite being used, Roxas has no choice, and gives up his existence so that Sora may wake from his induced slumber.

Not even his older friends know what to say. Whereas Roxas has issues telling fact from fiction, so does his friend Axel have trouble knowing whether to treat Roxas as friend or as someone different, someone who’s left his old life and friendship behind.

The mystery deepens as we hear fragments of truth from the man in red and the man in black, who turn out to be Ansem, both of whom use a girl named Namine to get what they want out of Roxas. They might have different motives all, but the result is the same. Roxas’ reality is crumbling.

Towards the end, Roxas doesn’t know what to believe. He’s alienated from his friends, people he’s never seen show up and say only cryptic words, and what’s real, what’s a dream, and what’s neither is starting to blur. His mind isn’t even his own when Sora and Kairi start chatting via his mind.

But Roxas is no coward. Despite being confused and worried, Roxas dares to run where others won’t. Sadly for him, there’s something that lives inside him that other people want, and despite being able to summon the Keyblade, he’s not on his own the chosen one.

What’s so tragic about Roxas in Kingdom Hearts 2’s intro is that he’s just a regular kid who wants to enjoy his summer alongside his friends.

Instead, weird things start happening around town, people not being able to say certain words, strange creatures showing up out of nowhere.
