Drawing + designing the cover for an imaginary literary thriller (a chance to look pretty, an opportunity to be spooky)
Photo of an imaginary book cover for a novel titled “Big Fig Wasp.” The cover art depicts a "main character,” which is a self-portrait of myself femme presenting, and dolled up with ribbons and jewelry and sitting on an iridescent pedestal while a mysterious, color-chromatic webbed-hole emerges from my torso as my gloved hand pulls it open. A shadow figure wrapped by a glowing dragon-creature is coming into being in an ornate mirror behind me in the top right corner. At the bottom-left foot of the pedestal if a black-panther dressed in an ornamental harness. Flower decorations and ornament patterns accent the bottom and other corners of the cover. The type is painted in iridescent colors and come in and out of focus.

A fun commission for Jerez about an architect building a maze.
a commission piece about an architect building a maze made of buildings and sculptures inspired by different cultures. The artwork is vertical but can be viewed from any angle. The character is standing in the archway with a scepter. She has bright red hair and wears a white dress. The arch in the foreground is decorated with patterns and tiles. The maze shows a big range of buildings overlapping with each other and some sculptures. There are spiders made of jewels in the corners of the illustration.

Trying new Procreate brushes and getting fussy with line art :')
In-progress line art on Procreate. Self portrait of myself femme-presenting dolled up in cute ribbons and jewelry, but with some kind of mysterious webbed-hole emerging from my torso as my gloved hand pulls it open. A shadow figure wrapped by a dragon-creature is coming into being in a mirror behind me.

Nonagon infinity opens the door ❤️‍🔥🪄✨
A hyper-colorful, chromatic fantasy scene divided into three panels. The middle panel depicts a group of angelic sorceresses with staff and sword appeasing a large fire goddess in a landscape embedded with swords and crumbling runes with mosaic and pattern decorations while a waterfall in canyon rift cuts through the landscape. A 4th sorceress in the middle activates a runinc-stone structure while a girl in a blazing fireball descends from the sky above. A modernly dressed femme character sits in the foreground sketching in a book. On the flanking side panels are depictions of the Moon and Sun rendered as a transfemme and transmasc human persona respectively. The Moon presides over a sword embedded into the rocky landscape that conjures a pouring out of blood, and the Sun is sipping from an overflowing goblet while at their feet is a decorated ceramic urn-vase emiting a magical glow. Flowing throughout the landscape and connecting the panels is a kind of amorphous dragon creature with sparkles inside its liquid magma body.

Self portrait 🙂‍↕️
Capture of an in-progress illustration on Procreate of an imagined book cover. There is a "main character" on the cover which is myself all dolled up with ribbons and jewelry. A mysterious shadow figure is coming into being in the back, and some kind of fantasy tiger creature is seen at the bottom. The text, partially cropped out, reads "Big Fig Wasp"

when bodies are treated as objects they are acceptable, however once the bodies have autonomy and find ways to express their own pleasure for themselves, it becomes unacceptable. the legality of sexuality in this country is dictated by who gets to enjoy it

(cont.) in order to touch heaven, you have to reach out first. What I'm trying to string together is- I just love art that lovingly, and thoughtfully, contemplates just how hard it is to live with yourself, and what that means for finding way to live with, to love, to do justice by other people.

(cont.) (to be a god/to become God), but like so much great art, they twist back down the recursive path to what it really feels like to be in- to rail against- to desire more for- your body. To me, techno-fascism inherently sees the body as something to be overcome, to be shed, but

Just finished the amazing scifi show Pantheon and really thinking about how these works (and there are more!) reflect each other in such a lovely way. I think it's how they invite you to a vantage point that seems so vast and beyond any realm of possible embodied experience

Penguin UK is publishing this exquisite series of four horror novel reprints, and an anthology (not pictured here), with some absolutely incredible covers. Not listed for sale in the US, sadly, much like their incredible set of "Penguin Weird Fiction" reprints from last year. These are to die for.

It’s an absolute shame that DC fired Gretchen Felker- Martin for exercising free speech and then @bsky.app suspended her account. Every writer here should be decrying this because we have to stand up for each other! This is ridiculous.

Thank you! :') I work on Procreate and don't modify settings really- these brushes Im using are the "Sajan Draw" set by @planetsmudge.bsky.social and the rest is just my own hand and learning by looking at other artists
