Yes, it’s nuanced. All in all there are arguments both ways and certainly not an area that should be determined by a petition but by an informed debate

This is actually the key point but not sure it's defensible any more. Also rules should be different for list member - both Wales and Scotland are out of step on this. Compare to New Zealand where constituency MPs resign (but can stand again) and list MPs are replaced... much fairer system
