Saying it again. You do *not* have to be the most accomplished artist in the world to make an excellent comic that speaks to people and communicates your truths.

Not that I know of. Maybe it’s just a day of assorted ultimate awfulness…

So that’ll just be the “no no it wasn’t transphobia it was just a translation mistake” people sending out a press release announcing a new series with a Comicsgate artist then.

We see you.

This happens far more than it should do! Seriously... don't make things unnecessarily harder for you than they need to be.

Please always check your review request e-mails before sending them, folks! If you send an unopenable digital copy, or a review copy link that we don't have access to, we probably won't have the time to chase you up about that right now. And you'll lose out. Sorry!

THE FURY OF FIRESTORM #21 (1984) - still really enjoying these early FIRESTORM issues. The Ronnie/Stein thing is such a great dynamic and I love all the supporting cast subplots.

As I have grown older, I have become increasingly passionate about ensuring that marginalised histories and stories, especially those of people of colour, are told truthfully and creatively in comics. That said, I wrote a story about Indian troops in WW1. downthetubes.net/uk-comics-la...

THE PHANTOM STRANGER #0 (2012) - The writing on this is a train wreck on every level. Cliched in narration and dialogue with an on-the-nose new origin for the Stranger and some of the worst pacing you’ll ever read in a super-hero comic. The art though is sublime. Absolutely gorgeous.

So... Covid. Turns out it's a bit shit really. I have zero energy for anything but lying on the couch watching back to back episodes of 'Eldorado'. Still, nearly six years of dodging it was a pretty good run.
