I don't know if any of my friends on here play MtG but I hope someone appreciates what I just did with four Ouroboroid.
MtG Arena screenshot showing my creatures as I was about to swing for lethal. There are four creatures about to attack: a 232/232 Llanowar Elves, a 233/235 Ouroboroid (that used to be a Silent Hallcreeper), a 232/234 Ouroboroid, and a 231/233 Ouroboroid. A 218/220 Ouroboroid with summoning sickness is not attacking. After the attack, I won with my opponent at -927. Fun!

My favorite podcast this year was @pablo.show - Pablo Torre Finds Out. I especially loved all his work looking into Bill Belichick and Jordon Hudson's whole weird deal. But I think his best episode was about Riley Gaines. www.anecdoche.com/p/2025-books...
He does a great job revealing the insidiously quick jump from “it’s just about fairness in women’s sports!” to “these people are criminals and sexual deviants, we are all victims!” and how there’s no daylight between the two. He draws a straight line from her original reaction to the caricature she became, a line that goes directly through the fact that keeps this hornet’s nest buzzing: it is extremely lucrative to play the anti-trans victimhood card. That’s all this is. Bad people making lots of money by jumping onto a vicious wave of lies and hatred that only further endanger an already marginalized group. Riley has made a career out of this. She made almost half a million dollars last year from one non-profit, all for being a whiny loser. She was a great swimmer. Finishing fifth in that meet was an achievement she should be proud of. Along the way, she changed for meets in a room with a trans woman, and said at the time she had no problem with it. Which is the normal response that a normal person would have, by the way. But then her eyes bugged out and turned into dollar signs like in old cartoons. There was probably a cha-ching cash register noise in her head, and all of a sudden changing in that room near a trans woman was akin to sexual assault. She saw a pile of money available to her, and she took it. She’s raking in cash. She’s doing just great, and all she had to do was be loud and mad, then stay loud and mad, because the rage machine runs on anger and it is always hungry. Churn baby churn. Grist for the grievance mill.

It has done wonders for my mental health knowing that for years I will get to watch Roman Anthony play baseball all spring/summer/fall and watch Drake Maye play football all fall/winter. I went to Roman’s first game, and later in the season I saw him crush a homer off the best pitcher in baseball, Paul Skenes. 99 MPH fastball, 108.6 exit velocity, 408 feet. Beautiful.

But in a technological twist, impersonators are now using generative AI to clone the band’s iconic sound. A user on Reddit was recently recommended a track on his Release Radar that was a clear knockoff of the real King Gizzard, alerting them to the scheme. The track spotted by the Reddit user, called “Rattlesnake,” was listed under an artist with the incredibly similar name “King Lizard Wizard” — which is striking, because the real King Gizzard also has a song called “Rattlesnake.” The similarities don’t end there: the fake version of the song, which is clearly AI-generated, has identical lyrics to King Gizzard’s original version, along with a notably similar composition. In fact, every song uploaded by the knockoff “King Lizard” artist on Spotify has the same title as an actual King Gizzard song, with its corresponding lyrics ripped straight from the source, suggesting the perpetrator fed the lyrics into an AI music generator and instructed it to copy the band’s sound. A search for “King Gizzard” on the platform brings up the band’s abandoned official profile, with “King Lizard” being recommended immediately below it. The top song result for the search is the AI band’s ripped off version of “Rattlesnake.”
