i read what you posted and that is a far more measured process than US for sure. here, the law figures gives deference to law enforcement and you can sue to establish otherwise.

in the US, i don’t think deportation revokes ownership but i am pretty certain that ICE can and has a lot of leeway to seize assets that then become impossible to manage and adjudicate from afar.
