Wow! That's a lot of destruction. I think that sunken space (not a garden) was the Lionberger Room. I ran lots of weddings & special events in it. I started as events & facilities rental, but ended up also managing the membership program and, during the capital campaign for expansion, small gifts.

That may be the most evocative description of the damage yet, for me. I did fundraising for, and attended *many* meetings about the design and construction of the museum expansion, but left MHS and St. Louis before construction. Still, I know what the view from the second floor *should* be: trees.
